But even companies that specialize in data privacy need support when it comes to new regulations like the General Protection Data Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
The leading software company turned to Red Clover Advisors for help with complying with GDPR as they expanded from the U.S. to the E.U.
Collaboration to increase accuracy
As a first step, Red Clover Advisors partnered with a data privacy attorney to bring together the legal and privacy concerns Evident had with their expansion.
As part of the project, we evaluated what the company was doing well, in regards to compliance, and what they could do better.
From a security standpoint, Evident had many of their privacy items in place.
“Privacy is extremely important to Evident, and as a fast-growing company, they have the chance to do this right from the start and be an example for their clients,” says Jodi Daniels, Founder of Red Clover Advisors.
But, they needed to ensure, as the company grows, their team continues to follow best-in-class practices for regulation compliance. So, from there, we built a solid foundation for GDPR compliance and prepared the company for future laws, like CCPA.
We conducted product demos. And led working sessions to whiteboard the product and data flow. Then, as required by GDPR, we performed privacy impact assessments and created privacy notices, as well as a wide array of other data privacy services.

Now, Evident has the necessary documentation for GDPR, a greater awareness of privacy throughout the organization, and a foundation to build upon for future privacy regulation or customer expectations.
In 2020, we’ll work as their Fractional Privacy Officer as they develop new products and serve as a liaison with other external privacy resources, such as DPO and legal counsel.
