What you’ll do:
- Client Engagements: Act as the main point of contact, leading meetings and calls with clients and management.
- Strategic Guidance: Provide expert advice on data privacy issues and business strategies.
- Data Inventory: Identify and understand clients’ processing activities, assets, vendors, and data flows.
- Regulation Monitoring: Keep track of global data privacy regulations like GDPR, CCPA, US state laws, Canadian Privacy laws,
- CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and the ePrivacy Directive, and provide summaries.
- Privacy Impact Assessments: Support, create, and conduct PIA including process, policy, perform and / or review assessments
- Privacy Program Assessments: Perform privacy program maturity assessments and prepare detailed reports.
- Privacy Rights: Develop processes, policies and setup webforms for individual rights requests.
- AI Governance: Create AI policies, perform assessments and advise on privacy impacts to AI strategies
- Policy Drafting: Translate external privacy laws into specific policies and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other consultants.
- Privacy Software: Implement, optimize and maintain technology (such as OneTrust)
- Innovation Tracking: Stay updated on the latest privacy innovations, technologies, and approaches.
- Content Creation: Create content like whitepapers, blogs, and infographics to attract potential clients.
- Success Metrics: Define and monitor success metrics for client privacy programs.
- Client Management and Development: Play a key role in managing and developing business with existing and new clients.
Requirements:
- Project Management: Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, completing them on time with minimal supervision.
- Self-Starter: Thrives without regular oversight and takes initiative.
- Remote Work: Comfortable working independently with limited guidance and a self-driven attitude.
- Privacy Law Knowledge: Proficient in privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA and other US state laws, Canadian privacy laws, and federal regulations. Familiar with Online Behavioral Advertising Principles, Privacy Risk Models and Frameworks, and industry regulations.
- Passion for Data Privacy: Enthusiastic about data privacy and capable of conducting extensive research as needed.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technologies and legal requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, in both verbal and written forms.
- Client Service: Outstanding client service skills and a passion for building relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Writing Experience: Experienced in writing reports, policies, whitepapers, and blogs.
- Organization: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, adjust to changing priorities, and meet multiple deadlines.
- Learning: Enjoy learning from each other and continuously improving processes and deliverables.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with OneTrust or other privacy management software tools is preferred.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new online tools and technologies.
- Team Collaboration: Works well with others, fostering a cooperative and productive team environment.
- Experience: 10+ years business experience, 3-5 years privacy experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, JD a plus.
- Certification: CIPP certification required
